The Dalacarlian horse, a typical article of Dalecarlia's domestic art. The horse is a traditional handcrafted wooden horse, handpainted in bright colors. This horse is the large version 6" tall and blue color.
This is the original Dala Horse from Nusnas, Sweden from the county of Dalarna. This traditional national symbol of Sweden is made of hand-carved wood and painted in the famous workshop of Nils Olsson which was founded in 1928. The wood is from the slow-growing pine forest around Lake Siljan, with only the best timber selected for carving into horses.
