Native to Scandinavia, the Elk (Family Cervidae) is a ruminant mammal. Known as the Moose in North America and referred to Wapati by Native Americans. They eat shrubbery and saplings. They are very large animals typically measuring 6.2 feet (1.9 meters) high at the shoulders with antlers that can span 6 feet (1.8 meters) across. We have personally seen these huge animals grazing on shrubbery right next to our family home in Gävle, Sweden. It sure is an impressive sight. This high quality, hand-crafted Hansa Elk Medium plush animal is much smaller then the real thing (though Hansa does make a life size Elk). They have a bendable lightweight steel frame which allows you to pose the back and legs but is still soft and cuddly.
